ICOME 2024
The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) is pleased to announce the successful hosting of the Third International Conference on Management and Entrepreneurship (ICOME) 2024 on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of October 2024. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, incorporating virtual participation and an onsite gathering at the Center of Excellence for Water & Sanitation (CEWAS) in Ratmalana. With the theme “Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and International Relations for a Resilient Future,” the event drew a diverse audience, including scholars, academics, professionals, practitioners, and policymakers from both local and international contexts.
The distinguished event featured keynote presentations by esteemed researchers, including Prof. Richard Scullion, Prof. Hossein Hassani, and Prof. Dilani Jayawarna, who are recognized for their expertise in the fields of business management, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunge contributed as the guest speaker, lending his insights to enrich this significant occasion.
The event was structured around four distinct tracks, namely: Innovation, Work and Organization; Accounting, Finance, and Banking; Marketing, Supply Chain, and Tourism; and Human Resource Management and Best Practices. Moreover, the 3MT and Doctoral Colloquium demonstrated exceptional levels of knowledge and expertise, providing participants with valuable insights that highlight the path to success.
The Doctoral Colloquium was designed to facilitate the sharing of experiences among doctoral students, peer researchers, and established scholars while the Virtual 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) served as an exemplary demonstration of effective research communication methods, developed by the University of Queensland. This initiative is intended for PhD, MPhil, and DBA candidates who have successfully completed their confirmation, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their advanced research competencies.
Additionally, The Industrial Forum provides a unique platform for critical dialogue and collaboration which brings together leading academics, researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers to explore critical issues shaping the future of business and industries locally and internationally.
The mini-symposium significantly enhanced the prestige of ICOME 2024 by examining various dimensions of well-being in the workplace. It facilitated discussions on data-driven insights aimed at cultivating a culture of wellness within organizations.
In all, ICOME 2024 was a resounding success, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and innovation in management and entrepreneurship.
